Pyxils uses 8 by default. More is not always better — some servers just stop answering.

What that means for your files
Encrypted end to end, always
AES-256-GCM, on every transfer. Not a setting you have to find, not a Premium extra, and not something that can be switched off.
Direct means direct
On your own network, or on a direct link across the internet, the bytes never touch our server at all. There is nothing for us to keep, because we never see it.
Even our relay is blind
When a network refuses a direct link we join two encrypted halves together. The server forwards bytes it cannot read — that is not a promise about our behaviour, it is what the encryption makes possible.
Last week stays private
Every transfer gets fresh keys of its own, thrown away afterwards. A key taken from your computer today cannot open a file you sent last week.
You know whose PC it is
Both ends prove who they are before a byte moves, tied to the ID your friend gave you. Something pretending to be them does not get in.
No copy anywhere else
The file goes from your machine to theirs. No third place is holding it — nothing to leak later, expire in thirty days, or be scanned by anybody.
It catches what you are watching.
Point at a video and a small button appears on it. That button is the only thing Pyxils ever draws on a page — pages without video never see any of it.
